Tyga finally pays back jeweler he owed hundreds of thousands
Tyga finally paid someone back.
Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, 26, is closer to settling with a Beverly Hills jeweler he owed hundreds of thousands of dollars to, Page Six has confirmed.
As first reported by TMZ, the rapper, who owed celeb jeweler Jason Arasheben (also known as Jason of Beverly Hills) $200,000 plus interest thanks to a 2013 court decision, has paid the jeweler half of what he is owed for a gold watch and chain.
Tyga’s lawyer also revealed the rapper has agreed to pay back the debt in full by Nov. 17.
Last month, the emcee appeared in court to explain why he had failed to pay back Arasheben. He mysteriously fell ill when questioned about all the money he was spending on gifts for his 19-year-old girlfriend instead.
“Tyga did make significant payments on his obligations. Today, in court, a representation was made that the entirety of the obligation will be satisfied prior to next scheduled hearing on [Nov. 17],” Arasheben’s lawyer Boris Treyzon, of Abir Cohen Treyzon Salo, told Page Six in an email Tuesday. “Our client is gratified that, notwithstanding a significant delay, Tyga is finally making good on his obligations.”
TMZ also reports that Tyga is paying off his debt without any help from his reality star girlfriend or her family. Jenner was scheduled to appear in court for questioning had the matter not been sorted out by Nov. 11.
A representative for Tyga failed to return a request for comment.
