Five ACTS LAW Partners Named 2022 Super Lawyers

ACTS LAW partners Danny Abir, Alexander Cohen, Boris Treyzon, Robert Finnerty and Terry Bailey were named 2022 Super Lawyers.

This is the largest number of attorneys recognized as Super Lawyers in the firm’s history, capping an amazing 12-month period where the firm obtained more than $70 million in verdicts, settlements, and awards on behalf of its clients.

Danny Abir is one of the founding partners of ACTS LAW and currently serves as its managing partner.  He is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the firm. Equally important, Danny leads the strategic planning of clients’ cases in the areas of property damage claims, insurance bad faith, catastrophic personal injuries, and products liability. Mr. Abir had a prolific 2021 as Managing Partner for ACTS LAW. He’s been extremely outspoken in his opposition to the movement that would allow nonlawyers to practice law and have ownership of law firms. He authored several articles highlighting the efforts of Bigtech and corporate America to subvert the legal system by allowing “para-professionals” to practice law.  Mr. Abir was recognized by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles with their 2021 Presidential Award for his efforts. 

Alexander Cohen is a founding partner of ACTS LAW, where he represents individuals, business and commercial property owners in residential and commercial property damage losses throughout the United States. In 2021, Mr. Cohen obtained numerous seven-figure settlements in insurance bad faith cases. He properly navigates the claims and recovers insurance benefits for his clients, particularly when claims have been underpaid or denied. Mr. Cohen has developed a reputation among insurance companies and defense counsels as an expert in insurance law and coverage. He is a longtime consumer advocate and has specialized in the representation of policyholders in insurance bad faith and insurance coverage matters since 1999. 

Boris Treyzon is a founding partner of ACTS LAW and serves as the firm’s lead trial attorney. He represents individuals and businesses in complex litigation matters, catastrophic personal injury cases, and insurance bad faith. He was named the 2021 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). He obtained several impressive results for his clients in 2021, including a $5.9 million verdict in an insurance bad faith trial, an $8.2 million verdict in a catastrophic personal injury trial, a $5.75 million settlement in a traumatic brain injury case, and a $3 million settlement in a product liability matter.

During his career, Robert Finnerty has earned a reputation among judges and fellow attorneys as a skilled and tenacious trial lawyer. He is a member of two invitation-only trial organizations that aim to recognize the highest achievements in trial advocacy, professionalism, and civility. As an advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, he has tried over 75 trials to verdict, and as a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, he has been recognized by his peers domestically and internationally for his trial skills.  In 2021, Mr. Finnerty obtained a  seven million dollar settlement in a corporate malfeasance matter.

In addition to obtaining results like a $7 million settlement in a construction defect case, Terry Bailey was hard at work fighting for justice on behalf of his clients. Growing up in a family that worked in the construction industry, Terry spent much of his early years in and around construction sites, then worked in the business as a teenager and into his adulthood. It was at those building sites where Terry learned the family mottos and built his work ethic: Be early. Work hard. Do the right thing. Given his background, Terry understands the rigors of construction work, the importance of precision and attention to detail in the building industry and is tuned in to the fact that people’s needs outweigh any business plan or profit margin.
