A settlement of over $1 million was obtained by ACTS LAW partner Alex Cohen and attorney Farid Golshani when the client’s home became flooded from a burst shower line. At issue in this claim were the gorgeous hardwood floors that became partially damaged. Carrier was arguing for partial replacement and sanding/refinishing. Clearly, that was not the appropriate remedy. We partially argued that partial replacement would not create reasonable uniform appearance under California Regulations warranting full replacement of the custom floors.
